News from Scientific Committee
Today, Scientific Committee made a meeting from two professors from Galatasaray University about being keynote speakers. Also J.J. Fresard of IRCR Turkey and J.M. Henckaerts, the writer of the books, "Customary International Humanitarian Law" are invited to speak at the keynote seminar "The UN and non-international armed conflicts".

An open letter to 2010 ILSA Conference Participants
Hi all!
As organization committee we're looking forward to host a uniquely wonderful conference.We are expecting over 250 participants from many countries of the world.The organization will be held under responsibility of Bahcesehir University's BUSIL.
At this point we all agree that some information about our university will be helpful in order to have some knowledge.
Bahçeşehir University was founded in 1998 as a foundation university by Bahçeşehir Uğur Educational Institutions.
Bahçeşehir University is aiming to take its place among the leading universities in the world with its strong academic staff, research and educational-instructional programs on international level, study abroad opportunities and modern technical infrastructure.
Bahçeşehir University encourages its students to be productive, investigative and intellectual individuals, who are respectful of human rights and freedoms with social responsibility to serve humanity and who are adorned with creative thinking in line with universal knowledge and values.
Campus is located in Beşiktaş at the heart of Istanbul, the city, where Europe meets Asia.
Bahçeşehir University has various academic and strategic cooperation agreements with the leading universities in the USA and participates in the Erasmus Program. It also carries out joint programs with many universities in Europe and the Far East. Similarly, Bahçeşehir University offers its students the opportunity to take English Preparatory Program abroad. The program is implemented at Northeastern University, Boston; Kent State University, Cleveland, Ohio; California State University, San Bernardino, California; and in Washington DC.
Bahçeşehir University organizes many certificate programs and conferences, and hosts various cultural events during the year as a service to and for the intellectual development of the community. “School of Politics and Leadership” that has been carrying out its program for two years and the “Public Academy” that started in 2006, are successful programs developed in line with this vision.
A liaison office in Brussels cooperates with the European Universities, explore the possibilities to benefit from the EU funds (funds that are not decentralized) and offers internship opportunities in Brussels known as the capital of the EU.
Bahçeşehir University organizes many certificate programs and conferences, and hosts various cultural events during the year as a service to and for the intellectual development of the community. “School of Politics and Leadership” that has been carrying out its program for two years and the “Public Academy” that started in 2006, are successful programs developed in line with this vision.
Public Academy is initiated as the starting point of “Istanbul, Capital of Culture 2010” process to which Bahçeşehir University will contribute with various different projects. “Public Academy” where courses are given voluntarily by experts from different fields and academics.

ILSA International Conference to be in Istanbul, Turkey July 7-10, 2010
All ILSA Chapter Members are invited to attend the ILSA International Conference at Bahcesehir University in Istanbul, Turkey. The ILSA International Law Conference-Turkey will bring together hundreds of law students from around the world to learn and network with esteemed members of the international legal community. The Conference will feature panel discussions, student presentations, and social events. The Conference's overall theme is “Discussing Global Issues within the Framework of the United Nations”.
